THE HOPPERS IN ST.GALLEN

For the first time this season, the Zurich team travels to eastern Switzerland. In the 15th CSSL round, they are guests of FC St.Gallen 1879 at Kybunpark.

GC were beaten 1:3 by Luzern in the last match and thus conceded their second home defeat in a row and in the current season. Now there are two more games before the winter break. First, the Hoppers travel to Eastern Switzerland before they host FC Basel at home to close out the year. The table situation between 9th and 3rd place is close, with just four points separating seven teams. The Hoppers are currently in 7th intermediate place, level on points with Basel and Lugano. The next opponents from eastern Switzerland has one more point on their account. Head coach Giorgio Contini expects an intense match: "St.Gallen will do everything in front of their own crowd to steer the game in their direction. We need to fight back, we need to be ready. We have to want to take on the duels and stand compactly."

St.Gallen celebrated their last full success in the championship at the beginning of September. Since then, three draws and four defeats have resulted from seven games. Most recently, they were beaten 1-0 away in Winterthur.

For the match against St.Gallen, head coach Giorgio Contini will have to do without the long-term injured Hoxha, Kacuri, Moreira, Nadjack, Jeong and Momoh. Captain Amir Abrashi is back in the squad.
