After the victory in the derby, the Hoppers will continue tomorrow. In the 14th CSSL round, they will welcome FC Luzern.
Thanks to a convincing performance in the derby, the Hoppers got the win against FCZ. "We came out of a series where we didn't win much. Therefore, the victory in the derby is of course very pleasing," said head coach Giorgio Contini after the match against FC Zurich. Now it's on to Saturday against FC Luzern for the Hoppers. Contini also stressed that they want to take the momentum from the derby into the last three games before the winter break.
The Central Swiss are the Zurich side's neighbours in the standings and are currently only one point behind (with one game less). In the last five direct duels, the two teams have played to a 1-1 draw three times, including the first meeting this season. FCL have picked up four points from their last two games, drawing 3-3 against St.Gallen and most recently beating Lugano 3-1.
For the match against Luzern, head coach Giorgio Contini will still have to do without the long-term injured Hoxha, Kacuri, Moreira, Nadjack and Jeong. In addition, Abrashi and Momoh are also not in the squad. Francis Momoh is still struggling with knee problems. The young Nigerian is currently undergoing treatment and will therefore not make another appearance before the winter break.
