THE HOPPERS BEFORE THE DERBY

The first Zurich derby of the current season is coming up. On Saturday evening, the Hoppers will face FC Zurich.

The Hoppers used the national team break for a test match against the Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart, in which they were narrowly beaten 2:1. Since the middle of the week, all players who were away with the national team are back in training. Now the first Zurich derby of the current season is on, when they host FC Zurich on Saturday. "We were very quiet in the past ten days and worked a lot with the players who were here," said head coach Giorgio Contini about the past week. He further added: "The team is looking forward to the derby. We have to concentrate on our game and show presence from the start. Of course we want to win the game at all costs!"

FC Zurich started the new season modestly and is currently in 9th place, level on points with FC Winterthur. After the defeat and the elimination in the Swiss Cup against Lausanne-Sport, head coach Franco Foda had to step aside and Genesio Colatrella will take over on an interim basis. Colatrella has been head coach of the U21s since the summer of 2021 and will now take over the team.

Besides the long-term injured Hoxha, Kacuri and Moreira, head coach Giorgio Contini will also have to do without Francis Momoh against FCZ. The young Nigerian is currently struggling with knee problems and will probably have to take a break for a few weeks. In addition, Noah Loosli and Ayumu Seko are serving red and yellow bans respectively. Otherwise, Contini has the entire squad at his disposal.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be watched for free through the livestream on <link onefootball.com/en/match/2299322 _blank - "Link auf eine externe Seite - Grasshopper Club Zürich">Onefootball</link>.
