GC FACES SERVETTE

The Hoppers can look back on a successful Cup weekend. Now it's on to the championship, where they travel to Servette FC in Geneva for the first time this season.

A 4-0 victory against FC Wettswil-Bonstetten earned the Hoppers a place in the second round of the Swiss Cup. In addition, centre-forward Guilherme Schettine made his debut and scored two goals. Now it's on to Geneva. The Hoppers want to keep up their form: "We want to remain unbeaten in Geneva," said head coach Giorgio Contini. But Contini does not expect an easy opponent in Geneva: "Servette is a very strong team that has scored very few goals so far. That means we need a very concentrated performance from us. This week, as always, we have prepared with a lot of commitment. We want to be flexible in our system and very variable. What has to improve is our quality in passing, we weren't that strong there in the past weeks. We will certainly get spaces for our game and then we have to be efficient like in the last weeks."

Servette have played a similar season to GC so far. In the Swiss Cup, they also advanced one round (4:1 win against Stade Nyonnais) and in the championship, they are one point behind GC. They have only been defeated once in the current championship. In the last championship match away in Bern, they lost 3:0.

For the match against Servette, head coach Giorgio Contini will have to do without Florian Hoxha, Sangbin Jeong, Tsiy Ndenge, Li Lei and Amir Abrashi due to injury. Also unavailable is Tomás Ribeiro, who is serving a one-match suspension after his red card in the Cup match. Georg Margreitter and Hayao Kawabe are available again.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be watched for free through the livestream on <link https: onefootball.com en match _blank auf eine externe seite grasshopper club>Onefootball.
