Grasshopper Club Zurich is pleased to introduce its new Sporting Director, Bernt Haas. The 44-year-old Austrian-Swiss professional, who made 194 appearances for Grasshopper Club Zürich as a player and was most recently Sporting Director at FC Schaffhausen, will take over the Sporting Director role at Grasshoppers with immediate effect.
Bernt Haas boasts extensive expertise and a wealth of experience in the Swiss football business. From 2015 to 2018, he was the Sporting Director of FC Vaduz, where he had the opportunity to work with Giorgio Contini. Most recently, he held the position of sporting director at FC Schaffhausen and contributed significantly to the club's success by leading the team to the playoff matches in the last season.
During his football career, the former defender played 194 competitive matches with Grasshopper Club Zurich between 1995 and 2001, eight of which in the UEFA Champions League, before continuing his career in the Premiere League. Bernt Haas was for many years part of the Swiss national team squad, with whom he played 36 competitive matches.

Now I will get to work immediately and do my best to ensure we can start the season with a strong team," said Bernt Haas after signing the contract.

Haas, who speaks German, English and French, has already had the opportunity to have a first contact with Giorgio Contini. He will immediately address the current transfer window in order to provide the coach with a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
