Grasshopper Club Zürich wishes to announce changes within its management. Following internal discussions, the club has reached a mutual agreement to end its working relationship with Managing Director Jimmy Berisha and Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana with immediate effect.
Over the past weeks, intense discussions regarding the future of the club were held. Through these open and fair conversations, the parties came to the joint decision to go separate ways.
As a club with a strong heritage and ambitious vision, our aim must be to continuously push it forward and challenge ourselves on a regular basis. Following the transparent discussions and in light of the diverging views on the future direction of the club, it was mutually recognised that change within the leadership team was inevitable. The board of directors together with the concerned parties came to this decision in the best interest of the clubs future in order to keep pursuing its ambitious goals in the years to come, said President Sky Sun.
I would like to thank Jimmy and Seyi for their always professional and construvtive collaboration. Both have contributed significantly to the club and guided GC through an important chapter of its history. Jimmy has played a crucial role in the last two years in building this new project and helped the club achieve promotion, a fundamental step in bringing GC back on track. Seyi has always shown great dedication and committed fully to any challenge with strong passion. Through his work, he ensured we could tackle the season with a competitive squad. I wish them all the best for their personal and professional future and thank them sincerely for their commitment to Grasshoppers.
The new Sporting Director will be appointed in the coming days. President Sky Sun will assume the role and responsibilities of Managing Director on an interim basis and will be supported by the members of the Management.
