The GC fans have voted: Dominik Schmid is their 'Player of the Season' 2021/22. The defender wins the award in his second season with the Hoppers.
GC fans had the chance to vote for their 'Player of the Season' on Facebook, Instagram and via mail. There were seven GC players to choose from, and Dominik Schmid came out on top.
Schmid moved from Basel to Zurich in August 2020. The defender played an important role in the Zurich club's promotion and has also been an important part of the GC defence this season. Schmid played 34 games for GC this season, mostly as a wing-back on the left. Schmid's versatility has often benefited head coach Giorgio Contini this season. He used Schmid in a total of five different positions this season. Schmid played a total of 2,465 minutes, in which he contributed seven assists and one goal. Schmid also captained the team eight times.
