SEASON FINALE IN BERNE

In the 36th and last CSSL round, the Hoppers travel to Bern on Sunday afternoon. There they will meet the Young Boys team from Bern away from home.

Last Thursday night, GC beat FC St.Gallen 1879 3-2, giving the Hoppers an important three points and extending the gap on the barrage place up to three points. Lucerne, who are currently on the barrage place, could still catch up with the Hoppers in terms of points on the last matchday. However, since the Zurich team has a much better goal difference, it will be very difficult for the Central Swiss to overtake GC. Nevertheless, the Zurich team wants to end the season on a positive note. The Hoppers will play the last round away at BSC Young Boys.

For YB, the last round is all about securing second place in the table. Currently, the team from Bern is on the third place, two points behind FC Basel 1893. Last Thursday, YB gave away a 2:0 lead in Lucerne and finally took a point in Lucerne.

In the three meetings between the two teams so far, there has been no winner. 0:0, 1:1 and 2:2 were the final scores.

As the season draws to a close, head coach Giorgio Contini continues to have to do without Florian Hoxha, Tomás Ribeiro and Petar Pusic due to injury. In addition, Kaly Sène is not available for selection due to a yellow suspension. Christian Herc and Bendegúz Bolla will return from their suspensions.
