DUEL WITH FC LUCERNE

After the good performance in the derby, the Hoppers want to confirm their fighting performance against FC Luzern. In the duel with the Central Swiss side, the aim is to keep the distance to the barrage place.

"I'm proud of how the boys fought today and how they showed willingness." Head coach Giorgio Contini was satisfied with his team's performance despite the bitter ending in the derby. The Hoppers showed fighting spirit last Saturday and got their first point in the last month. Now the next important game is already on the horizon. FC Luzern, the table neighbor, is guest in Zurich - the central Swiss team currently sits five points behind GC. "It's a very important game. There are fewer and fewer games left and we are approaching the end of the season. Therefore, it would be an advantage to win the head-to-head and take three points. We were able to gain confidence in the derby, that was important!"

Since they switched coach at the beginning of the year, the Lucerne team has shown that they should not be written off just yet. Mario Frick's team has celebrated three victories in the second half of the season so far - in the first half of the season, they had only scored one win. Last Saturday, they also picked up one point at home against FC Lugano. They did so despite being 2-0 down until the 59th minute.

Against Luzern, Head Coach Giorgio Contini will have to do without Florian Hoxha, Tomás Ribeiro, Georg Margreitter, Li Lei and Petar Pusic. Riascos, on the other hand, is eligible to play and Captain Amir Abrashi should also be back in the squad.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be seen on free TV on SRFzwei.
