TOTI GOMES RECALLED BY WOLVES

With the Credit Suisse Super League currently on a winter break, Wolverhampton Wanderers have decided to recall Toti Gomes from his season-long loan at Grasshopper Club Zürich. The Portuguese defender will join Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday 5th January and train with the Wolves for the coming weeks. Toti will most likely return to Zurich by the end of January, to play the second part of the season with GC.

After playing a decisive role in the promotion of Grasshopper Club Zürich last season, the 22-year-old central defender has also played regularly in the current season, starting 18 official matches for GC and scoring a header in a 3-1 victory over Lausanne-Sport back in August.

Wolves have now decided to recall Toti, in order to evaluate his progress and have a chance to see him at work, after being on loan for the last 18 months.

Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana said: “Toti has delivered strong performances throughout the last 18 months in Zürich. He has significantly developed since joining Grasshoppers in June 2020 and has become a key player of our team. We are sure he will benefit from this opportunity to gain further experience and we expect to be able to count on him for the second part of the season.”
